Big River Ranch is situated on the banks of the beautiful Hawkesbury River, nestled in a picturesque valley at the foot of the Blue Mountains in NSW Australia.

At The Ranch our goals are to work towards promoting the Sport of Reining by breeding the best Quarter Horse Mares available, to Imported and local stallions who have proven that they will produce the quality horses needed to excel in the show pen.

Our breedings are calculated to produce trainable young stock with great minds, temperament, looks and ability.

Our foals are handled from day 1 and taught all the basics at a very early age allowing them time to absorb their lessons in a no pressure situation and a comfortable environment. Our Brood mares and foals graze in lush pasture and grow strong and healthy with all the benefits of constant supervision, good feed and daily grooming.

Our foals are kept at Big River Ranch until they’re ready to be shown and if not sold beforehand are sent on to Backhouse Training Stables in Kandanga QLD where either Warren Backhouse or Shaun Saunders will take over their training and prepare them for their future show careers.
